FACADE
The commission: a tactile artwork which should facilitate ‘meeting’.
The current, paved Bogaardplein in Rijswijk will be transformed into a green, town park. It will be surrounded by roads, a shopping centre and high-rise buildings.
The concept: at the end of the 17th century there were more than 40 country houses in Rijswijk. The design is a silhouette of an archetypal country house. A free-standing facade that represents the memory of the early/historic houses in Rijswijk and also serves as a meeting place for visitors to the park.
The transformation from square to park will begin in 2020. The design was one of three nominated for the final selection.
